The Frenchman scored his first Everton goal in the 3-0 win over West Brom at Goodison Park today and says he hopes he can chip in with even more before the end of the season.
“The most important thing today was to win,” said Schneiderlin.
“Even if it wasn’t our best game we did a proficient job and for myself it’s great to score and I hope to continue.
“Sometimes you end up in this situation and although I don’t make too many runs into the box, against a team like West Brom a midfielder needs to make these runs.
“I just took my chance. It was a great ball from Rom and after that it was just up to me to stay composed and score the goal.
“I’m not used to scoring a lot of goals but I’m very happy because last week was disappointing for myself and the team and I wanted to bounce back.
“It was very nice. The fans, the crowd has been amazing with me since I came here so I wanted to give them good performances first, and if I can give them goals then it’s perfect.”
