Koeman: That wasn’t the Everton I know

Koeman at WatfordEverton boss Ronald Koeman says that he wanted to make more than the three permitted substitutions this afternoon at West Ham as none of his players played how he wanted them to.

The Blues’ boss was left scratching his head as to why his side once again failed to win away from home this season, and he said it simply wasn’t good enough.

“It was not good enough,” said Koeman.

“We didn’t create a lot, but defensively we were ok.

“It was far away from the level of performance of the team compared to the rest of the season.

“We know you can’t do more changes than 3 subs but nobody was at the level we expect.

“We didn’t bring enough intensity from the start and it’s difficult to change that through the game.

“It was not good.

“It’s difficult to explain, we did everything during the week.

“We know that we need wins, not one point like to today [to climb the table] but that wasn’t the Everton that I know.”
