Coleman: Scoring is great way to ease tension

Coleman Everton 2017-18Everton defender Seamus Coleman says that scoring for the Blues is a great way to release emotions, especially if he’s having a bad game.

The Republic of Ireland international often gets accused of looking like he’s gone completely insane when he scores and of being hard to catch for team-mates wanting to congratulate him.

“I do look very aggressive but deep down I’m very happy when I score,” said Coleman.

“It’s a great way of letting out a bit of emotion, too. If you’re having a bad game or getting a bit of stick you can score a goal and let those emotions out.

“I get a bit of stick from my teammates because they come to celebrate with me and I just run away but I can’t help myself.

“Obviously in my position the first job is to defend but scoring is part of the game I really enjoy.

“I just lose myself when I score because there’s no better feeling on the football pitch than when you score, especially if it’s a winner or to get an equaliser for the team.”
