Everton boss Ronald Koeman says that young striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has a phenomenal attitude and deserved all the game time he got last season.
Calvert-Lewin helped the young England side win the World Cup this summer – scoring the winner in the final – but Koeman says that he needs to progress more into a first-teamer at Everton.
“He can play in different positions up front. He’s really improving in his movement and finishing, and that makes him a first-team player,” he said.
“But he’s a good boy who is serious and has a phenomenal attitude, which is what we like.
“He deserved to start matches last season and he is progressing well, but he needs to progress more because he is still only 20 years old.
“He’s physically strong, which makes him a little bit different than the likes of (Tom) Davies and some of our other young players.”
