New signing Davy Klaasen has revealed how manager Ronald Koeman is convincing players to join Everton this summer.
The former Ajax captain is still finding his feet at Goodison Park during pre-season, but has shown the fans that he is prepared to work hard and shown some silky skills.
He told The Times that he wasn’t sure about a move to Everton but once he spoke to Koeman he was sold.
He said, “Before my conversation with him, I didn’t really know what to expect, what Everton’s plans were.
“Then he told me about the club, their ambitions. I thought, ‘This is what I want’.
“That’s important when you go to a club. You want to know what the ambition is, what kind of club it is.
“Then you get the feeling, ‘OK, I can feel at home here’.
“The manager just said his ambition is to make the next step and finish higher than last season, and you can see that ambition in all the new signings.
“He wants the next step. After our conversation, I got really excited.”
