Wayne Rooney will play as an Everton player for the first time in 13 years as the Blues start pre-season in Tanzania on Thursday.
Manager Ronald Koeman has confirmed that everyone who makes the trip to Tanzania will get at least 45 minutes playing time.
Rooney started his pre-season early as he made his intentions for the coming season early, and said he is realy looking forward to getting away with the team.
He said, “I’m looking forward to it – it should be a good trip. It’ll be nice and hopefully I’ll get on the pitch and get some game-time.
“It’s good when you go away with the team. It’s good to be around the hotel with the players, spend more time with them and get to know them more.
“I’ve never been to Tanzania before, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
