Everton forward Wayne Rooney wants Ross Barkley to stay at the club, something he says is “what’s right.”
Barkley is yet to sign a new deal at Goodison Park and has entered the last year of his current contract, meaning he could leave for free next summer.
Rooney insists that everyone wants Barkley to stay at Everton, adding that he feels the England international has the ability to help the team.
“With the ability that Ross has, we all want him to be a part of what we’re trying to achieve at Everton,” said Rooney.
“But the decision about his future is down to him and I’m sure he’ll speak to the manager and do what’s right.”
