Can Evertonians dream of winning multiple trophies this season?

As the transfer window slams shut and Everton’s first team squad going into the rest of the season is confirmed, we look at some of the odds on the Blues winning a trophy this season.

Leicester City proved two years ago that you should never rule out the underdog in the Premier League title race, but you won’t find too many backing the Blues at 200/1 with SkyBet, while on the sbobet app you can get slightly more realistic odds.

Everton face a tough group in the Europa League this season, with Lyon, Apillon and Atalanta all aiming to upset one of the favourites for the competition. Ronald Koeman will fancy his chances of picking up his first piece of silverware as manager with the Europa League, though, and will likely continue to field his strongest side throughout the competition.

With the Carabao Cup – the latest incarnation of the League Cup – comes another challenge for Koeman, however. Everton have never won the League Cup, and several top managers put it at the bottom of their list of priorities for the season. Koeman could buck that trend and fight on all fronts, but with a realistic chance of winning the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions League, it is unlikely to cause too many concerns if the Blues don’t make it to Wembley next February.

Traditionally, though, the FA Cup has had a romantic attachment for Evertonians. Winning the trophy five times in our illustrious history and reaching an – until recently – record number of semi finals, including the first to be played at the new Wembley Stadium.

The third round draw in December is always greeted with the excitement that only the oldest competition in football can inspire. From the early days of live broadcasts on the radio, to modern-day celebrity studded draws of today, you will find Evertonians huddled around whatever device they can find to see who will be first to face our side.

In the past, there have been a number of fairy-tale draws with non-league sides visiting Goodison Park in the third round as the magic of the FA Cup throws the top sides in against minnows of lower leagues to have their day in the spotlight.

Can Everton win the FA Cup as well as the Europa League this year? Why ever not? A kind draw and a bit of luck with injuries and there’s no reason why the Blues can’t pick up more than one piece of silverware this term.
