Everton forward Kevin Mirallas has been quoted in Greek media saying that he was not allowed to leave the Blues this summer.
Mirallas was linked with a move to Olympiakos late in the transfer window, and there were rumours of sightings at John Lennon Airport, but no move materialised.
The Belgian, who was left out of his nation’s side on deadline day, enjoyed a successful spell in Greece ahead of his move to Everton in 2012, scoring 34 goals in 52 appearances.
He is quoted as saying, “I really wanted to join Olympiakos.
“I’m really sad. Everton didn’t want to let me go.”
