The Blues have been without a manager since sacking Ronald Koeman last month, and the latest move for Silva shows that Farhad Moshiri is far from giving up and heading towards the likes of Sam Allardyce.
There is not believed to be a release clause in the former Hull boss’ contract at Watford, but there are whispers that Silva would welcome an approach from Everton, despite having been Watford manager for just 12 games.
Any approach would cost Everton big, however, and with a severance bill from Koeman that will likely match the £10m claimed by Roberto Martinez just 18 months ago, it could test the board’s investment strategies.
