Goodison vibes give Walcott the willies

Theo Walcott EvertonTheo Walcott said that walking out at Goodison Park as an Everton player gave him chills, although he didn’t comment on how he felt being part of the team booed from the pitch at the end of a drab 1-1 draw with West Brom.

The former Arsenal man got his first assist in an Everton shirt, however, setting up Oumar Niasse to rescue a point after being brought on for Cenk Tosun.

“I got chills walking on Goodison for the first time, it was a great atmosphere,” said Walcott.

“This week’s been 100 miles per hour. I wanted to get to know the guys pretty quickly, I’ve only had one training session, that’s my first full 90 this season, and I felt good.

“Obviously there’s going to be a lot of improvement and the guys will get to learn how I play.

“But [getting an assist] is a positive way to start my Everton career and hopefully I can continue to contribute.”
