Walcott: Judge me on my goals

Walcott Everton 11New signing Theo Walcott says he wants to be judged on the goals he can provide for Everton after joining from Arsenal this month.

The England international joined for around £20m after twelve years at The Gunners, and says that he will bring goals and assists to this Everton team – something that is desperately needed.

‘I just want to work hard to get in the team here. I’ll be judged on goals and I was pleased with my goals last season. That’s what I want to bring into this team: the goals, the assists,’ he said.

Manager Allardyce is happy with the signing, adding, ‘He’s got goals. For us that’s a very important ingredient where we are short in terms of creating goals.

‘He wanted a fresh start. He’s exceptionally good from a wide position.’
