After a summer of the British media finding it hard to hate the English national team, the red-top rags have linked a goalkeeper none of them rated before the World Cup with a £50m move to Chelsea.
Cleverly ignoring the fact that the £30m paid for Pickford last season is in itself a “big money move”, the former Sunderland man is now linked with a new “big money move” to Chelsea.
But only if Chelsea’s own decent stopper moves on, in what would presumably be a “big money move” but only if he moved to an English club.
We all know the media in general don’t like Everton having good players – which is lucky for them most of the time – so this is hardly a big surprise is it?
Will he go? Let’s hope not. It’s been ages since Jags has played in goal at any kind of decent level.
