Everton are set to reveal the signing of Brazilian talent, Bernard, on a free transfer.
Bernard burst onto the international scene in the 2014 World Cup although the main reason his international side will be remembered that year will be the 7-1 humiliation at the hands of eventual winners, Germany.
The forward, who can play on the left or behind the striker, joined Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013 for around £25m but his career then went into reverse.
He has scored 14 goals in just under 100 appearances for the Ukrainian side and has not been capped by his country since 2014.
Bernard is said to be excited to reignite his career in the Premier League, and Everton fought of competition from West Ham and Chelsea, if stories are to be believed. It was reported recently, though, that West Ham had withdrawn their interest upon hearing Bernard wanted £200,000 per week wages. Ahem.
We also have to wonder if the scout who watched him play had been placed on Bernard Watch…..
