Everton defender Lucas Digne has said that his move to Goodison Park was behind his recall to the French national team this week.
Digne last played for France in March and missed out on a place in the squad that eventually won the World Cup in Russia this summer.
Now, he says playing every week has helped him regain a place in the French squad, and that he must thank the coaching staff andf manager at Everton.
“I think moving to Everton is so important to my recall,” said Digne.
“When I came here I wanted to play every week, to enjoy it and discover a new country, a new league, and then see what happens with the national team. But now I am so happy.
“I want to say ‘thank you’ to my teammates, the coach and the staff and the fans, too because they helped me a lot to get the recall.”
