Everton defender Kurt Zouma says that he wants his side to bounce back when the Blues face Brighton and Hove Albion at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Zouma once again showed his ability at the back as Everton battled at Old Trafford but were beaten 2-1.
The on-loan Frenchman, who is with Everton until the end of the season from Chelsea, said that he felt Everton played the way they wanted to play at Old Trafford and that his side should have taken more of the chances that were created.
Zouma also said that he felt the penalty decision against Idrissa Gana Gueye was harsh, but admitted that in football sometimes these things go against you.
“We played our game, we fought for every ball and we fought for everything,” he told evertontv.
“That is the spirit we need to keep during the whole season.
“We can have some good and bad moments but we need to all stay together and moving in the same way and that’s what we’re trying to do.
“It was a disappointing result for us. I think we played had a good game.
“We tried to keep the ball, we had some chances but we just scored once and we can be disappointed because I think we deserved to score more goals. Also, I didn’t think we deserved to concede the penalty – but that is football.
“Now we have to bounce back next week.”
Zouma has grown into the Everton side since joining on loan, keeping new signing Yerry Mina out of the team alongside Michael Keane. However, with a game against Chelsea coming up – in which Zouma won’t be able to play – should he be replaced against Brighton this weekend?
