Everton have today been named among a number of Premier League clubs interested in signing Brazilian forward Gabriel Barbosa from Inter Milan.
Barbosa is currently on loan at Brazilian side Santos where he has been in fine scoring form, bagging 19 goals from 30 appearances. He has also been capped by the Brazilian national team at every level, including 4 caps at senior level, scoring twice.
The 22 year old free-scoring striker started his career at Santos and made his debut at the age of 16, amassing 150 appearances before joining Inter in 2016 for a fee believed to be around £25m
He struggled to fight his way into the first team, though, and made just 9 appearances before being loaned out again.
Now, having found his scoring boots again, Everton are among a list of Premier League clubs who are said to want to sign the forward.
Barbosa is still under contract at Milan for another 2 years, and Santos will be hoping to continue his loan moves if the Italian side decide he is not part of their plans.
Would he be worth a big investment?
