Former Barcelona defender Lucas Digne has hailed the atmosphere at Goodison Park and said that he is very happy at Everton.
Digne signed for the Blues in the summer as part of a triple raid on the Nou Camp and has firmly established himself as part of the first team, ousting Leighton Baines from the left back berth.
Everton have only lost to West Ham at Goodison Park in the Premier League this season and Digne says that he wants that form to continue as he is enjoying the atmosphere created by the home fans.
Digne has settled quickly in England and to the pace of the Premier League, and says that all of the new players who joined in the summer have been helped by Everton’s established players, something which is evident by the relationship they have together on the pitch.
“We defended very well against Cardiff and were determined to keep another clean sheet,” Digne said.
“We have a strong mentality and focus and we deserved to win.
“Goodison Park is a fortress and we want to continue to win at home for the fans. Their support is excellent every time and it is an amazing atmosphere in the stadium.
“I am enjoying my football and am so happy.
“The spirit in the dressing room is very good. All the new players have been helped to settle by our teammates and we are always talking together.
“It is so important for the team. It has helped us all play in the team soon after joining and do what the club wants from us.”
Everton travel across Stanley Park to face Liverpool on Sunday and will be hoping to take at least some of the atmosphere from Goodison to Anfield, although with an allocation of less than 3,000 supporters, the travelling Blues will have to work hard!
