Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that the side that Marco Silva will put out on Sunday at Anfield will be the best Everton side he has faced as Liverpool boss.
Having previously faced sides managed by Roberto Martinez, Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce, Klopp says that this is the best squad Everton have had in the time he has been Liverpool manager.
Klopp has not been beaten by Everton at Liverpool yet, and was seen laughing as his side ran out 4-0 winners in his first Anfield derby experience, but he knows that this Everton team will be a much different proposition on Sunday.
Marco Silva will hope to go to Anfield and end a nineteen year wait for victory in our former home, but he too will know it won’t be easy, and will hope that his new signings don’t take any of the derby fear into the game that has been evident in previous years.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, and quoted on the BBC, Klopp said, “Silva has the best squad [of all the Everton managers he has faced]. It is the best-tuned squad.
“Analyse Everton and then tell me it will be an easy game. It will be a proper fight but we expect that in the derby. That’s how derbies should be.
“Everton are a different team now, different style.
“They are a really good opponent. The games were always difficult in previous years but the improvement in Everton is obvious.”
