Everton boss Marco Silva says the win over Brighton and Hove Albion at Goodison Park this afternoon was the best performance of the season at home.
The Blues ran out comfortable 3-1 winners over the Seagulls thanks to goals from Richarlison and a rejuvenated Seamus Coleman, although the Irishman’s celebration may have upset a few in the Gwladys Street as he cupped his ears, presumably asking questions as to the whereabouts of those who have doubted him.
But Silva says that he really enjoyed the performance his side put in, although the goal that was conceded from a corner was something which displeased him.
He said that it was important for the club to better last season’s finish and to give the fans something to enjoy. More importantly, though, was that Silva said that he wants Evertonians to have a real connection with what the team are trying to achieve.
He told the BBC, “It was our best performance at home this season. First 30 minutes, we played really well.
“The only thing I didn’t like was that corner when they scored. We worked for and prepared for – you need to react faster.
“What I liked was the second half. We kept doing what we did in the first half. We had chances to score more and it was a good and deserved win.
“For us it is important to do better than last season. We want to give the fans something to enjoy and feel a connection with what we are doing.”
