Everton are reportedly going to face stiff competition from Spurs in the summer as they race to make the deal to bring Andre Gomes to Goodison Park from Barcelona permanent.
Gomes has been hugely impressive for the Blues since signing on loan from the Catalan giants in the summer, but he had to have help from the Everton physio team in order to get into physical shape for the Premier League.
Now, it has been reported in the Telegraph that Spurs are interested in making a move for Gomes having scouted him at Barcelona and seeing his impressive adaption to the Premier League so far at Everton
Spurs are facing a battle to keep their own manager, though, says the newspaper, which could mean that Gomes’ working relationship with Marco Silva at Everton puts the Blues in pole position to sign the Portuguese.
Evertonians have taken Gomes to their hearts this season after he has been one of the shining lights over the last few weeks, in spite of results, and it would be just our luck if he went elsewhere.
