Everton are reportedly getting closer to signing Boca Juniors’ Colombian international Wilmar Barrios as rumours surface that he is already on Merseyside.
According to AS Argentina, Barrios would welcome a move to Goodison Park as Everton look to add more steel to their midfield which has been out-muscled and out-outmanoeuvred in the last couple of weeks.
There are also unconfirmed rumours on our forums that the Colombian is already on Merseyside and could be at Finch Farm this morning – we are sure the eagle-eyed paparazzi of Liverpool will be outside the private medical centres as we speak!
Barrios showed his solidity during his country’s World Cup campaign in Russia last summer, and he was part of the midfield that tried to give England the runaround in the quarter final.
A much more moderate transfer fee of around £20m is being quoted by some media outlets, while PSG still hover around Idrissa Gana Gueye.
