Everton boss Marco Silva says that the omission of Idrissa Gana Gueye from the Everton squad that beat Huddersfield this evening was not a sign that he is about to sign for Paris St Germain.
The French giants have made several offers for Gueye this month, and have been rebuffed by Everton each time, but seeing Gueye missing from the Everton starting eleven set tongues wagging.
There were even unsubstantiated reports from frequently unreliable sources on Twitter that Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in signing the 29 year old Senegalese midfielder.
But Silva said that it was a minor injury which saw Gueye sit the match out, and that he was trying to be honest with everyone when he says there have been no new offers.
“There’s nothing new,” he insisted to the BBC after the match.
“I tried to be honest with you and our fans. He had a minor problem in his groin. There have been no new offers.”
