Everton midfielder Tom Davies has said that his side are unhappy – again – with defeat away at Watford today as the pretend Londoners leapfrog the Blues in the Premier League.
Luckily, they seem to have controlled their social media manager for the moment, who has a history of tweeting premature celebrations when Watford briefly climbed above the Toffees in the Premier League earlier this season.
But you’d have got good odds on betting sites like betbrain.co.uk for the outcome today. Marco Silva and Richarlison, who have underperformed at best recently, visiting their former home had “home win” written all over it.
The inflatable snakes were out in the home end, but many Evertonians are starting to feel almost as much animosity towards their Portuguese manager as the Watford fans do these days, so if the home fans were looking for outrage from their visitors, they were disappointed.
But not as disappointed as any travelling Evertonians who were still hoping for a decent performance from their side.
Davies did his best to control the midfield, but those around him simply aren’t performing – or aren’t good enough.
He told the BBC, “We dug in again. We’re not happy and we have to look back on this match to see what we need to change.
“We underperformed again today – we had enough chances.”
