Everton have announced that from next season, section GT8 of the Gwladys Street will be given over to fans who want to spend the match generating the kind of noise that has been praised by players in recent weeks.
Following meetings between Everton and fan groups such as Originals1878 and NSNO, the introduction of the “atmosphere section” in the Gwladys Street is in response to scores of fans stating their desire to get together and try and generate an atmosphere to get behind the team.
The meetings also brought about the use of the sirens before Z-Cars and an increased visual display in the Gwladys Street, with the club allowing supporters to bring in flags with poles and hang additional banners from the upper Gwladys Street.
The section given holds around 200 supporters and is in the corner of the Lower Gwladys Street, next to the Bullens Road, and boasts not only excellent views of the pitch, but a good vantage point to stand and sing at the match.
The move to initiate an “atmosphere section” at Goodison Parks paves the way for supporters to get together and sing without fear of their attempts to start a chant being scuppered by fans around them who don’t want to sing.
It also gives a solid indication that the club is prepared to work with fans on the way the atmosphere is generated ahead of the move to Bramley Moore Docks.
If you want to get involved in the atmosphere section then you can follow the instructions above from the club and register your interest by filling out the form.
