Everton boss Marco Silva says that Leighton Baines is still a part of his plans for the coming season and he is delighted that the left back has signed a new deal with the club.

The former Wigan man has signed a one year extension to his contract and will feature says Silva.
Speaking to the BBC, Silva said, “Leighton is part of the club’s fabric and a top-class professional.
“Most importantly, Leighton is still an exceptionally good footballer and features in our vision for what we want to achieve at Everton.”
Baines himself said that the deal was always in his mind to extend, and that he wanted to stay at Everton.
“It was always in my mind to stay because of talks I’ve had with the manager and Marcel,” he explained.
