Reports are circulating among those in the know that Everton are close to signing former Aston Villa man, Fabian Delph, from Manchester City for £8m.
Respected journalist, Paul Joyce, says that the Blues are closing in on a deal for the 29 year old England international and could land him soon.
Delph joined City in 2015, but has made less than 60 Premier League appearances since then in an injury-dogged few years where he has also struggled to find form.
Everton had previously been linked with signing Delph when he left Leeds United in 2009 for £4m, but instead he joined Aston Villa in a £6m move.
If Everton do pay £8m for Delph, it will see City recoup the fee they paid for him in 2015, which many will see as good business.
Will it make good business for Everton and could he follow in the Gareth Barry mould of players we sign from City?
