Everton are reportedly ready to loan AS Monaco right-back and World Cup winner Djibril Sidibe once he passes his medical tomorrow.
The Blues are short on cover at right back after allowing JonJoe Kenny to leave on loan, and are reportedly ready to bring Sidibe in on a short term loan with an option to make it permanent at the end of the season, according to trusted journalist Paul Joyce.
Coleman suffered a dip in form at the start of last season, and it is reckoned that Marco Silva feels he needs more competent cover in that position in case it happens again.
Once linked with a move to Manchester United, Sidibe himself has suffered a drop in form last season, but Silva will be hoping that he can show the old adage of “form is temporary but class is permanent” to be true.
Although primarily a right back by trade, Sidibe can also play at left back or at right midfield, which will offer the kind of versatility needed to cope with a long campaign.
