Sky Sports are reporting that Mainz midfielder Jean-Phillipe Gbamin is set to undergo a medical at Everton today, while it is also expected that Moise Kean will finally meet the medical team at Everton today.
Both players have been linked with moves for close to 30m pounds and will represent a big investment – and hopefully improvement – in the Everton first team squad.
Gbamin is said to be a direct replacement for Idrissa Gana Gueye, and can also play as a centre half if required, while Moise Kean is signing as an out and out striker to try and replace the goals lost in the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United two years ago.
Marco Silva has already said that he hopes for around five new faces before the end of the transfer window in just six days time, and Kean and Gbamin represent a big move towards reaching that target.
Media reveals are expected as soon as medicals are completed, which could be as soon as this afternoon.
