Everton boss Marco Silva says that new signing Jean-Phillipe Gbamin is ready for the challenges ahead of him at Everton after he signed from Mainz today.
Silva, who has clearly tracked the young Ivorian’s progress over the last few years, says that he has seen a high level of performance from Gbamin in the Bundesliga, and is happy to have in his Everton side.
Silva lost Idrissa Gana Gueye to Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the week, so will be happy to have a defensive midfielder in the squad who enjoys a battle.
Gbamin signs on a five year deal which will keep him at the club until 2024, by which time the Blues will hope to be playing at Bramley Moore Dock and Gbamin will hope to have been a pivotal part of taking success to the new stadium.
Manager Marco Silva said: “Jean-Philippe is a player who has developed really well during the last three seasons and achieved a very good level of performance playing in a high level competition like the Bundesliga.
“He is ready for this challenge – to come and help us to keep getting better. He is full of ambition to play for Everton, fits with our model and he will give us different solutions in our midfield.”
