Prior to the start of the current season, much of the talk was about the expected title race head-to-head between both Manchester City and Liverpool.
Each were around even money in the ante-post title betting markets, with each continuing to drift as the week’s go by in the current campaign. This not only comes down to each of them struggling in comparison to recent seasons, but also as other sides appear much improved and battling at the top of the table. One of these of course being Everton, who have made a bright start to the season and have also continued to shorten in the betting markets for success. A key example of this is that Everton are now a general 7/1 to finish in the top four, which would be an incredible achievement if they were able to do so and much shorter odds than at the start of the season.
Everton made a flying start to the season, as Ancelotti has continued to improve the squad since taking over. The Toffees have also brough in a number of key players that have clearly played a major role in this improvement and one of them is James Rodriquez. The 29-year-old joined from Real Madrid, with a big reputation, despite not being a regular player for Madrid in recent seasons. He has already proven to be a great signing and the attacking midfielder has proven to bring a new creative aspect to Everton. On top of the incredible start to the season that Dominic Calvert-Lewin has made, it has resulted in this strong start that Everton have made, with further success now expected for the rest of the season. Calvert-Lewin is battling at the top of the scoring charts and if he can continue to do so, then this is going to lead to Everton maintaining their position in the top part of the table. This has also led to many fans looking at the euro betting offers, as he could yet play a key role in the success for England in the competition next year.
Key performances to note in the early period the season has been the opening 1-0 victory over Tottenham. The latter are also challenging at the top of the table, so this was a key early season result for Everton. They also held champions and rivals Liverpool to a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park, which was another example of how much Everton have progressed this season.

Everton have also picked up victories against West Brom, Crystal Palace and Brighton to name a few and will now be hoping they can continue this winning form moving forward and further challenge at the top of the Premier league table.
