I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

I'd be confident with our best starting XI but right now it's another tough game for me with the team depleted as it is.

Both are left and right sides are potentially an issue. Even if Rodriguez is fit without a functioning RB he's more limited. Left side is potentially very inexperienced if we have Gordon and Nkounkou there. Maybe he'd prefer Delph there for that reason? Or perhaps he persists with Iwobi with Nkounkou behind. Dunno, either way if the supply lines aren't functioning that leaves DCL chasing lost causes again.

All that said, there is a lot to like from Nkounkou in terms of what we've seen so far and I'd be interested how he gets on if given the chance. Maybe we discover a fresh combination with him and Gordon.

Do need a result though with Man United coming up, who while not at their best are still capable of beating us.

If the KO time is UK time, Surely everyone outside of the U.K knows what time zone they are in and can work it out for themselves? No need for one person to go through the whole Internet for every country to spell it out.

Yeah, 'twas a joke from previous matchday threads. Figured the "known to man" would've been the clue lol.

Having Iwobi on the left ahead of Nkounkou would be setting him up as Iwobi can't keep possession, pass or offer a threat of scoring or offer cover for when Nkounkou goes forward.I don't think Bernard can play there either because he's too slight, so Gordon despite his rawness would show hunger and offer better cover. He also likes to attack and I think would be the better option for what we have available. Iwobi isn't good enough period.

Just wish it was sooner than Sunday.

Agreed, however, on the flip side, it will give Ancelloti more than enough time to work on the flaws of the Southampton game.

I know exactly what Newcastle's tactics are going to be.

Plonk Saint-Maximin on the left hand side against our non-existent RB and RW. Isolate our RB for one on ones. Get crosses in the box.

I would absolutely load up that right hand side to contain their width, and potentially even play one of my most hated formations, 3-5-2 / 5-3-2 to stop it from happening. The two up top, I would have James and DCL. James cannot play RW whilst we have no RB. As we saw yesterday, its just defensive suicide.

Id be gutted if he played Delph over Nkounkou. Really looking forward to see him rampaging forward

Nkounkou, Gomes and Gordon surely got to be starting here.

Sunday at 2pm UK time
Monday at 1am Tonga time.

At the risk of this backfiring, I think these will cause us absolutely no problems and we will win comfortably. They've been lucky so far and we're far better.

Pickford
RB* Mina Keane NKounkou
Doucoure Allan Gomes
James DCL Gordon

* Depends on Fitness. Coleman > Kenny > Godfrey

This team but with Delph instead of Gomes. RB is a real issue though so hopefully Carlo tweaks the set up to provide more support

Fear this is going to end in disappointment. Richarlison is a massive miss, add in Digne and Coleman, and the fact that James is starting to look in need of a rest... 2 weeks ago this was a walk in the park, now it's nowhere near guaranteed.

Dont see these causing us any problems.

Get back to the midfield that's had us top of the league, get Gordon on the left and hopefully Kenny will be fit.

We'll slap them round the park.
Im worried about ASM bumming Kenny, repeatably. Especially as James wont be helping out at all.
