For context, the NFL had one game all season postponed.

With squads of 53 players where close physical contact is a massive part of the game.

The Cleveland browns won their first play off game with numerous people having to isolate including their coach, with their facility being closed most of the week.

This game has essentially been cancelled because Aston Villa think they havent had enough time to train which is rubbish as players can keep themselves fit at home.

Tbf they have 53-man squads with backups at every position, and can also move players from the practice squad if need be too.

What pisses me off most is I'm doing Dry January, but have special dispensation to have a few beers when Everton were playing, imagine my delight when we went into extra time against Rotherham
Hardly "dry January" then, is it?

International friendlies in middle of pandemic is beyond ridiculous.

Got a feeling this one will be the first of several postponements over coming weeks, surely the season will need to be extended?

Euros need to be scrapped. Out of interest, if clubs hold the players registration and pay their wages surely they have the right to refuse the release of them for internationals anyway? If they want to get funny about it there must be legal grounds to tell UEFA to do one..?

Not in favour of deducting points. The season is somewhat unusual as it is, we don't want to introduce measures that may make the season any more of a farce than is necessary.

Yeah its completely unfair to warp the league by giving teams wins because of covid cancellations. Obviously we want the advantage of playing villa and city when its happening but the boot could be on the other foot and wed want whats fair.

To be fair, I don't see why Aston Villa would receive preferential treatment over Everton.

One of the big clubs, yes, but why Aston Villa?

I meant City, really.

Agree 100% with the cancel Euros shout.

This is a very dumb time to be plowing ahead with international play.

And with a large proportion of the games being hosted in Britain, the Covid epicentre of Europe.
