Yeah I see your thinking.

I would go with exactly your lineup, but Digne for Godfrey (assuming he's fit). Have Digne as the attacking full back and get Coleman to sit deeper and look after Harvey Barnes.

I think a front four of Richarlison, James and Iwobi behind DCL could cause them real problems.
I can see that. I wasnt sure on Digne/Iwobi/Godfrey and which 2 to pick

They were all impressive against Wolves but Richarlison is who he is and I am hoping that goal on Sunday gets him on a roll so had to have him in

If Digne is fit he has to play.

Gives us an extra level going forward and it's not like you really lose anything defensively either.

I reckon he left Digne out to play him fresh against Leicester. But yeah as already said, our midfield will be weak as piss so I'd be more comfortable with Godfrey at left back.

He was asked about Holgate playing in midfield right at the end and he basically said 'yeah I'm aware that Mason can play midfield', while also saying he was very happy with Tom Davies the last time he played there.

Holgate is a much better option in the middle than Godfrey.

Doubt were gonna see either of them in the middle though

I’d prefer holgate at right back and Davies in midfield just afraid a midfield of Gomes Davies and sig would get totally overran

Holgate is a much better option in the middle than Godfrey.

I wouldn’t say that; Godfrey played over 50 games at DM for Shrewsbury, and nearly got them promoted to the Championship, whereas in his season at Norwich playing as CB in the Prem, he was in a relegated side, that conceded tons of goals. He remains this Shrewsbury journalist’s favourite player

https://www.shropshirestar.com/sport/football/shrewsbury-town-fc/2020/05/23/my-favourite-player-ben-godfrey-a-class-act-on-and-off-the-pitch/

And the Norwich fans, knowing how he’d starred at DM in that loan move, naturally speculated about his best position

https://forum.pinkun.com/index.php?/topic/124345-ben-godfrey-the-future-midfield-general/

Whereas Holgate played three games at DM, was it, for Ferguson’s backs to the wall Everton.

Godfrey has a heavier touch than Holgate so I wouldn’t really want to see him in the middle with Gylfi receiving the ball and looking to ping it backwards at every opportunity.

The problem is you know Leicester are going to play three in the middle and we absolutely do not have the players available to match up with them in there.

I wouldn't mind seeing something like the Wolves lineup with one of Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin, and James starting on the bench.

That leaves us a fresh attacking option if we're unable to hold them. Start like this...

GK: don't care
RB: Holgate
CB: Mina
CB: Keane
LB: Godfrey
RM: Iwobi
CM: Davies
CM: Gomes
LM: Digne
CF: Calvert-Lewin
CF: Richarlison

...and then figure out when/where you need James as the game progresses.

I still don't feel great about that midfield being able to play 90 minutes and the next man up is Sigurdsson (grim).
