ANCELOTTI GIVES TEAM NEWS

Carlo Ancelotti says he is hopeful Tom Davies will be fit to face Chelsea on Monday (6pm) but added James Rodriguez may not be available for the Stamford Bridge clash.

The pair missed the Blues’ successive 1-0 victories over Southampton and West Bromwich Albion last week with minor knocks.

Seamus Coleman and Robin Olsen were also sidelined for those matches but no update was provided on their availability for Monday’s game.

“I hope Tom can recover soon and that he will be available against Chelsea,” said Ancelotti, who was speaking at his pre-match press conference.

“With James, I don’t know. I think we have to check.

“I think maybe he is not ready for the game against Chelsea.

“But for the next game against Burnley, yes [he could be available].”

I think that the majority of us have factored in a narrow defeat so a point or three would be beyon expectations, what we need to avoid is having our meagre GD wiped out in this one match.

I'm not sure it is a "huge game" as described in the op.
No-one is expecting us to win, we live to fight another day if we lose and we'll still be in a decent league position.

The entire rest of the season is going to be that way. Can't see us winning (or losing) too many games by more than a goal, so it's going to be a lot of shredded nerves.
