Say we win it and Spurs lose. The European Express is back on the rails.

I know it won't happen, but just say. Even a win, and a Spurs draw takes us into the last day with summat to play for.

I know it won't happen.

But just say...

If it matters at all, weíll go into that match with a weird five defender lineup and get slapped. Possibly even if it doesnít.

I really just want to see Carlo pack the fucking midfield and not lose the game there.

Direct passing, short passing, I donít give a fuck. But stop picking lineups that are easily overrun in the middle. Thatís whatís at the heart of every bad, embarrassing performance.

Just hard innit? Takes it's toll, year after year.

We're not even hoping for summat insane like a title challenge or whatever. Just a Europa League qualification or even a Conference League job. And then you have the other lot, having a dreadful year, and still probably making Top 4 with their effing keeper scoring.

As the actress said to the bishop, it's just hard to swallow sometimes.

Is this a 'that's what she said!' moment?

No, because I've already done that 'joke' (or poor excuse for) in the 'actress said to the bishop' bit.

Not being a knob btw. But I don't think it needs a 'that's what she said' on top of an 'actress said to the bishop'.

Are you familiar with that idiom? Has it crossed the Atlantic, or is it uniquely British?

Itís tough, but itís all I know.

Iíve been taught that surviving relegation on the last day of the season is better than winning the league. That I wear a beige cardigan and drink champagne in a conservatory when we finish fourth. That winking at Anfield for the first time in a couple of decades can mask being beaten 11 times at home in a single season.

I think Iím just a bit war torn tbh.

I'm right there with you. That's all I've known. But then you have to dream and aim for stuff and try to have standards don't you?

Your life as a fan mirrors mine too, but then I've got my arl fella and uncles in my other ear going 'we're a massive club, this isn't good enough, we're one of the big 5, we win titles, we win trophies, we formed the Prem' etc, and I'm trapped between the two.

No I have no clue, so I just took "hard to swallow" and ran with it. ;D

Yeah I havenít really had the success stories from my old man unfortunately. Heís one of those old school bloos that would prefer to tell me how much he hates Liverpool etc.

I totally get the standards part. But weíre run by humans and humans make mistakes. So I think I let them off with their shite decisions like 99% of the time........ So I guess my standards are actually pretty low now Iím thinking about it!
