That's like when we got 5th with Martinez. I think it would have gotten us CL on almost every other year the PL existed.

Would have got us 2nd in 2016, the year Leicester won the league.

I think the season we got 72 which got us 5th, Arsenal got 4th with 80, so 79 wouldn't have even got us 4th that year.

Although it is hard to work out what the points totals mean with regards to the quality of performance in an individual season

Obviously if you can average high 60s over 5 years you’d be unlucky not to pinch a CL spot once

Similarly if you can average low 60s you’ll qualify for europe 4/5 years probably

Having two seasons back to back which are roughly on the same bin lid would represent progress for us and what we should be trying to do really.

65 points, in and around that in back to back years and you will see the difference in this club.

Agree we need to win (mainly because of Arsenal). Just pointing out that we don't need Spurs to lose if we win. A Spurs draw would be good enough for us.

I guess we're back to playing lots of CBs and seeing what we can get from set pieces.
