Newcastle United v Everton
St James' Park
Tueday 25th March 19:45
Premier League Match 30

Newcastle's last 5 domestic results:

Newcastle 0-4 Tottenham
Newcastle 1-0 Aston Villa (Remy)
Hull 1-4 Newcastle (Sissoko x2, Remy, Anita)
Fulham 1-0 Newcastle
Newcastle 1-0 Crystal Palace (Cisse)

Everton's last 5 domestic results:

Chelsea 1-0 Everton
Everton 1-0 West Ham (Lukaku)
Arsenal 4-1 Everton - FA Cup (Lukaku)
Everton 2-1 Cardiff (Deulofeu, Coleman)
Everton 3-1 Swansea (Baines Pen, Lukaku, Barkley)

Papiss Cisse scored just his 2nd goal of the Premier League season on Saturday as his injury time header won Newcastle all the points in a 1-0 home win over Crystal Palace. Interestingly, Newcastle have now gone 7 Premier League matches without a draw which is the most along with Tuesday's Opposition Everton. Newcastle have taken 24 points from home matches this season out of a possible 45 and have lost 4 of their last 6 home matches (winning the last 2).

Newcastle are one of just 5 sides in the Premier League to get over the 300 shot mark this season, though they've also been one of the least accurate having converted just 12% of those shots into goals. It's little surprise that the two highest goalscorers in the league boast the best conversion rates either as Manchester City and Liverpool both hit the 22% mark.

Possible Line-ups

Everton recorded their 3rd win in a row with an uninspiring 3-2 win over Swansea City whilst Romelu Lukaku scored his 4th goal in 5 matches since returning from injury. Everton go into this away game on the back of 3 away defeats without scoring against Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool. Everton haven't in 5 league games since Swansea away and Everton have failed to keep a clean sheet on the road in 7 matches.

10 points for whoever spots the totally deliberate error
Everton were awarded just their second penalty of the season in the Premier League against Swansea on Saturday with the only other penalty also being dispatched by Leighton Baines coming against Stoke. Everton are one of 7 Clubs to be awarded 2 penalties this season with only West Ham (1) and Cardiff (0) being awarded fewer. Everton top the conceded list this season with 6 along with Arsenal and Crystal Palace. Interestingly, since Roman Abramovich was appointed, Chelsea have been given 38 more penalties than they have conceded, just a coincidence I'm sure.
Stats and Injuries

Shola Ameobi could return for Newcastle but the Magpies will be without Ryan Taylor and Gabriel Obertan who have long term injuries. Davide Santon is likely to miss out through illness whilst top scorer Loic Remy is a week or 2 away from being ready. Mathieu Debuchy is also likely to miss out.

Long Term injuries Arouna Kone, Darron Gibson and Bryan Oviedo along with loanee Lacina Traore will all miss out this game whilst Phil Jagielka is set to return. Steven Pienaar isn't expected to return for 3 weeks.

American Evertonian:
What happened to Pienaar anyway? Completely missed what the actual injury was.

Score draw written all over this one.

Doubt we will win 4 on the bounce in the league, especially if we play remotely close to how we played at the weekend.

Gutted this is tomorrow.  I was supposed to be meeting the players at a function my band were playing!! Ah well stuff these to make up for it!!

Sir Stealth:
If we play terrible and win again....I'll take it!

Wont be pretty this
