We stabilized and returned Europa League comfort zone, but can we kick on from there? We've not done anything yet.

We are a long, long way from the teams who finished in the top 3 today. You have to expect the likes of Man United will be spending big money again too.

Can we attract and retain (the few we have of that level) players who will allow us to compete for a CL spot?

It's a big ask recruitment wise. Potentially a radically different team awaits us at the start of next season depending on how the Lukaku/Barkley situations resolves themselves.

New Goalkeeper, potentially 2 new CBs, new LB for Coleman's injury, need option for Baines too. That's just the defence.

Schneiderlin, Gueye and Davies in the midfield but beyond that who knows. Bolasie to return at some point. Mirallas has to be replaced, probably our most ineffective area of the pitch attacking wise. We definitely need more goals from midfield, Koeman is not wrong there but we're missing a couple of players if that is what he wants.

Then while I hope Lukaku stays, we either need 1 forward who can contribute meaningfully or two.

Well stated.  I share the exact same sentiment.  A major rebuild is needed.  It is also a good time to let Moshiri use this new supposed financial muscle we now possess.  This off season should really show a statement of intent in the rebuilding process.

agree with the 1st lot in that list, but Jags, Williams, Barry , will be staying if we are to make a fist in the Europa League, extra games and all.     we may be able to lose one of Jags/Williams-Mori but not 2

This summer is probably the most important since the Premier League started.  We have our 2 supposed "best" players looking like they are going, and gaping holes all over the squad where we don't have a player or the existing one is nowhere near the required standard.  We are led to believe there is no shortage of funds.

It's time to put up or shut up.  Hopefully the lessons have been learnt from last summer of Kenwright and Elstone not able to get deals over the line.  I fear a repeat could see Koeman walking.

I think this is key. For the past few years we've been weak as piss from top down. Takes a while for this to be eradicated.

It's ironic that term, because to become a professional player, your mentality would likely be higher than the average Joe. It's certainly not an easy path.

But of course it's all in comparison to your peers and is part of what separates a good player from a very good or world class player.

I've said it before, but I think Tom Davies has what Ross is missing.
