Good on Senegal. Really pleased for them. Was also impressed with Japan earlier.

Was thinking about how when I was a kid, we played a game called "Japanese football", which involved hitting the ball through opponents' legs with your hand.

They've come a very long way since then. True, Japanese companies ploughed a shitload of money into the J-League in the 90s, but unlike in China, it brought tangible result.
I didn't even remember I had a signature.

Remember the days when African nations were so "naive" at this level? Big changes in the past 20 odd years.
Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're right.

At least Gueye was sensible enough to just hold it on the sideline near the corner..... the rest of them need to work on game management....

Not sure about big changes, they were still trying to whip it into the box with a minute to go, just hold onto the ball!!

Big Slaven knocking out an African stereotype there - saying African players don't normally play together as a team. Bit harsh like and not even sure it's in any way true. As opposed to those French and Dutch players, who play for each other so often?

Some positivity on the punditry front, Michael O'Neill the northern Ireland manager has been decent, he's on here with Richard Dunne and Dunphy, another positive is there's a woman presenting and they've also introduced some current and ex female professional players too on the panel for some games who've been very insightful

Kopite on Facebook's changed his profile picture to one of Salah with a World Cup filter on. 39 years old and still lives with his parents as well, bet he's got the posters on the wall, duvet cover, pyjamas, the works.
