Would agree with the previous comments, for the price, it's not exciting but it's sensible business.

The problem isn't so much losing gueye. It's that he does almost all the defensive work in the 3 with Gomes and sigurdsson. I'm not sure them 2 work without gueye or someone with similar defensive numbers. If we replace gueye with someone more rounded then for me we have to replace at least 1 of the other 2 with someone who will make more of a contribution defensively
I get that, but I've always had this notion that Gueyes, sometimes reckless, chasing of the ball cause us issues defensively and with someone more disciplined we won't look as vulnerable, staying to look like we might find out if that's true?

Papers saying we getting him far to cheaply, that makes a nice change.

We'll be breaking the transfer window again the opposite way this year.

Paul Joyce must be on the edge having to deal with those red fucktards saying the same jokes over and over in the replies...

This sort of signing proves to me that Brands and Silva really know what they are doing

Itís a sensible, head-over-heart type that indicates that we have identified a need and filled it quickly and cheaply

Any twat can throw bids for Wiltshire, Ramsey etc but seems we are more considered in our approach now

Would be a good one this, perhaps even great
Fancy your own online, part time business?  Just PM me for more details...

Clubs like that can afford to give big last pay day contracts. Or pay to fill a gap in their squad without thinking of any sell on potential.

At 8.5 million I donít think anybody will be worrying about sell on potential

In todays market, that really is absolute peanuts.

At 8.5 million, we shouldn't be looking a gift horse in the mouth. Delph has a very high level set of skills. He wouldn't be getting anywhere near the England squad if he didn't. Brands and Silva have brought in 6 first team players. Only Yerry Mina has a question mark next to his name. I like to think I know a bit about football, after all, I am an Evertonian.  ;) We buy, it would seem, the not quite made it quality players from the current elite clubs. It appears to be working, and Delph is of the same level of quality. The amount of money we spend on a player seems to tarnish what we expect they're going to achieve with us.

Depends on what his 3-year wages are.  That can still be crippling (if he is constantly hurt or ineffective).  I will give Brands the benefit of a doubt.

Unsworth has a 100% League record at home
Norwich 3-0 15th May 2016
Watford 3-2 5th Nov 2017

Delph's wages won't be crippling. It'll come back to the same issue here, the wages we don't/can't get rid of will be a far bigger issue than what Delph earns.

Tiny fee for a very decent, versatile squad player, although at £90k a week (he isnít going to take a pay cut to join us) itís a load of dough to splash on a benchwarmer.

I just really hope he isnít seen as Ganaís replacement.

If we also get in someone like Sangare, Kessie, or Zakaria then I will be more enthused by this signing.
