Mate, it hasn’t been a necessity to always start one of them.
He liked Gomes at the start of the season, and then he bought Sigurdsson in to replace him in the LCM role, behind poor old Wobes against Southampton.
Soon enough, Sigurdsson became skipper; you wouldn't make a player captain if you didn’t like them.
Obviously, all our previous managers have also liked Sigurdsson, but they were crap, so it doesn’t count. But now that Ancelotti seems to, I think we just have to accept it. He can strike a good dead ball (sometimes) he’s pretty good moving it on swiftly when we break, and obviously he can finish (again, sometimes) plus, he does press fairly well (sort of)
A few of us will be sulking if he gets a new contract, though.
