He'll be a ready made replacement for Keane in 4 or 5 years time.

Let’s not be chasing the best CB at the club, out the team, lads.

He'll deffo play alongside Keane. I mean, Keane isn't fast, I don't expect his pace to have dropped a lot in 4-5 years time. Even so - you'd want someone with pace to play alongside him.

Both really good in the air and composed on the ball.

They are primed to make a legendary Everton CB pairing.

Edit: Oop - thought Keane was 26, not 28!

It would be more likely Branthwaite and Godfrey.

True - but i would like him to have the opportunity to learn more form Keane. I don't know how much he can or would learn from Godfrey, but the timing, composure and distribution of Keane is something he would do well to study.

Godfrey - Branthwaite - Nkoukou

Only need a hot shot young right back and that's our defence sorted for a decade.

And to think some on here reckon we have no regard for buying youth with a long term plan in mind.

Could I interest you in a vibrant young man who goes by the name of... Johnathan Joseph Kennedy?

Shall we wait until one of them has a year of footy first?

A start in the league in their actual position would be a start.
I knew that someday I was going to die, and I knew that before I died, two things would happen to me. That number one; I would regret my entire life, and number two; that I would want to live my life over again.

I think it's pretty nailed on Godfrey will play some sort of first team role in the future, and of course Branthwaite looks incredibly promising... But yes fair point, still a lot of development and potential hurdles to get over before we can say anything for certain with them.

Yeah, getting ahead of ourselves a tad here.

It’s a massive drop off from Keane, Mina and Digne to the players mentioned.

If we sell any of the above we’ll be spending money to get them replaced, not give their minutes to under 23 lads.
Hey there mister can you tell me what happened to the seeds I've sown
Can you give me a reason sir as to why they've never grown

Be a few years for sure, but does show the club is building for the future as well as buying ready made players too.

Be interesting to see where Gabriel would have fit into the side, proving at Arsenal he was worth us having.

Yeah, we're talking a few years time here.

Of course, if Godfrey keeps progressing, he'll probably be off to City by the time Branthwaite even begins to look a regular.
