Getting rid of Brands just shows that Moshiri really has zero ability to read the room.

Probably the last thing us as fans wanted was a manager no one wanted having even more.control over transfers.

The club donít want a DoF

They want a transfer negotiator

Benitez says I want X, send the transfer guy to do it

Heíll have no other input into the club or strategy

Yep was also a huge fan of Potter and still am. However I doubt if even he'd do a good job here. At least at Brighton he has an owner who is on board with his ideas and they have a clear vision. No chance it would be the same here - Moshiri's ego wouldn't allow him the same kind of freedom and he'd be binned off like the rest.

As others have said I can only hope he helps to build the stadium and then fucks off sharpish.

The statement on the official site is very short isn't it, the last sentence speaks volumes though, to me it's pretty clear that Brands has been thrown under the bus by Moshiri

In the meantime, the Owner and Board of Directors will continue to provide our manager, Rafa Benitez, with their full support.
Iím not certain whether Brands quit or was pushed. Either way it seems that he wasnít allowed to do his job properly.

It was earlier than that mate. My missus told me about 9pm. It was on fb but was officially announced near midnight.

Soz... I'm not thinking 'by the club', so you're correct.

This tells you everything about where we are as a club.

A major decision on club direction was finalised and news released by the club at midnight on Sunday, the day before a big game, and in the middle of the run up to Xmas fixtures.

Itís chaotic at best, and pure neglect at worst. Its horrible to think that the players will know the situation, and some of them will read these fans forums. So all of this atmosphere is likely to be in the changing rooms.

In tonightís game we will see who has the bottle and character to raise their game when things are down.

Don't know how everyone else is feeling about all this but I'm just not right arsed anymore. I'm not sure what we supporters lose even if we are relegated. It hasn't been fun for a long time. We don't like most of our expensive signings. We don't compete anyway. It's all a bit scandalous like watching an episode of Jeremy springer but ultimately I'm not remotely angry about any of it. Maybe that's the worrying thing. They are about to wear us down to us just not really giving a fuck anymore

This is where I am. I donít want to be in this place but the whole situation has worn me down so much that actually it canít get any worse other than relegation - which I do believe is a distinct possibility, even if not the base case.

Itís not even the league position that bothers me. Itís the fact that there is no identity on the pitch anymore. The performances over the past 4 years have been so inconsistent that you just donít know where you stand from week to week.

Manager after manager has been unable to change it around. I do think that it needs a structural change and perhaps that is the last time that we will see a DOF, at least in the near future.

Maybe this is the very bottom and it only gets better from here. Letís all hope.

Why are they defending Benitez so hard?

Of all the nonsense that theyíre doing, that at least makes sense. If they didnít mention him, it would be picked up on and all the reports would be saying there was a lack of support

If they do decide to get rid whenever, they can just say results didnít improve
