Now official. Pickford has the number 1 shirt.

Reckon he'll do alright in a penalty shootout if it comes to it.

He's literally the opposite to almost every other English player, in that pressure doesn't seem to affect him.

Called it when we signed him.

Hes got the perfect temperament. A big game player.

Well done Jordan.

Hopefully it wont happen, but you get the feeling if he did make a mistake it would make him stronger whereas some go into their shell. Seems to be very mentally strong which he'll need, especially playing for England

Read an article on him a few days ago and he said that when he makes a mistake, it's instantly put behind him and he doesn't dwell on it. Good mentality to have. I think it was in relation to the shite's keeper's howlers last week.

Hope he gets through the tournament without letting in any howlers, usually there are one or two England players marked for being scapegoats.

Paul Robinson, Robert Green, Scott Carson, David James, Joe Hart...

Indeed. Some of those were broken by their experiences.

Pickford seems to be cut from a different cloth. Confident bordering on arrogant. He knows hes very good. He knows he will get much better with age and experience. Remember De Gea early doors? Wobbly as fuck but the foundations are there.

Shows how quickly football moves.

Thought Hart would be number 1 for most of his career whilst at Man City

Media/pundits/5 Live tonight putting a lot of pressure on Southgate to explain why he prefers Pickford to Butland, seems they would all rather it was Butland ?
