Never watch Watford so I'd genuinely forgotten he's still our player. Getting 6m for him is like finding a cheeky fifty quid down the back of the couch.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

Mad init.

People go on about how shite England are yet expect clubs to pay over the odds for someone who's played a few games for them.

Nah not avin it. 6M in todays market is fucking terrible.

Cleverly plays every game at Watford so he must be doing something right by their standards anyway. At todays prices they must think he is a bargain.

It was.

6 million is a ridiculous price. Decent Championship players cost more nowadays.

How would you all feel if we spunked 6 million on him? Be pretty disappointed I think. Hell, most were disappointed when we paid nothing for him.

He's gone, we've made a decent profit, move on.

I think it's a low fee for someone of his age in the PL.

But it's reflective of the fact that we probably want rid of his wages as much as anything else.

I reckon he's normally worth 8-9 million. But it's a different price when you're buying from a team that doesn't want to sell, compared to one that's trying to get rid. Looking at our options in midfield now, he'd struggle to make the bench. Plus he was on pretty high wages.
