theres always goals between us and Villa, Ashley Young plays usually 2 cracking games all season both against us, I'm going for a 4-3 win to us! We need to go all out attack and for a change! But we haven't beaten them in 8 league games so the game is my safety on IKTS

Score draw.  Villa did not become a bad team overnight, although their caretaker manager did accept some team selection naivety in the loss to Newcastle.  Poor mid-week result at home too.  Still capable and these are always hard-fought encounters with goals from both sides.

I was interviewed by a Villa site to give an "opposition" view on the game

Are there any youngsters coming through the ranks at St James Park worth keeping an eye out for. Gosling?  :eh:

Beckford every time and I don't want Coleman on the wing.  He doesn't even want to play there.  He sees himself as a fullback.

I don't think he would complain too much; he'd have more license to go forward and he would get some decent playing time

If Heitinga and Fellaini are fit, they should always start IMO. And that means Distin should drop to the bench, despite his good form.

Ideally:

Howard
Baines
Heitinga
Jags
Coleman
Pienaar
Arteta
Fellaini
Cahill
Bilya
Saha

I hope rodders plays at least 30mins tomorrow i can't see him starting in front of cahill because he did well against them last season but Rodders deserves time on the pitch

Agree with you, Si. This is our chance to beat them instead of drawing again because of John Bloody Carew barging his way through our defence.

Think Moyes has problems figuring out how to accomodate the players now that he has more of a squad of good players.

I expect

                   Howard

Hibbert - Jags - Distin - Baines
             Heitinga
                       Fellaini
Ossie            Mikel            Pienaar

                Cahill

But we may get

                  Howard

Hibbert - Jags - Distin - Baines
             Heitinga
                       Fellaini
Mikel            Cahill            Pienaar

                Beckford

Or my preference would be

                  Howard

Hibbert - Jags - Heitinga - Baines
                 Fellaini
Bily   Rodwell  Mikel   Pienaar

                Cahill

Think we have to get Jack playing somehow and prefer Jonny at Centre half to Distin.  It's difficult as for me Felli, Mikel and Tim are all undroppable when on form but Jack needs to play. One answer could be to shift Mikel to the right and have Jack, Felli and Tim in the middle but we would need to believe that we can still create chances with this change and a lot of pressure would be on Jack and Felli to control the middle and Mik and Stevie to create from wide positions.

Difficult times for Davie and Steve Round while they find the right mix

Beckford has to start over Saha again. I'd like to see Rodwell handed a start in Cahill's role too.
