So yesterday we saw a game completely without Rooney, and played everyone in their preferred positions. I genuinely didn't see too much of a difference too be honest, no real encouraging signs that without him, we could achieve this illusive "balance".

Are we a better team with him or without him? And where do you think he should play?

I've been relatively pleased with how Wayne has played since he's came back, often looking like the only player who can make something happen, as well as a few goals. Personally I think he plays best behind the striker, but nowadays that "No10" role is dead. Players need to be able to do more than just link the play from midfield to attack. A luxury if you will. So I'd like to see us play a midfield 3 of Beni/Davies (Fuck off Morgan) Gana and Rooney, with the left sided midfielder drifting in and occupying that No10 role when necessary.

Thoughts?

Rooney is the answer to 0 of our problems, but causes problems on his own. He's our 3rd best number 10 behind Barkley and Sigurdson

He's a player that we should be asking to politely leave at the end of the season. We should have his agent in telling him it'd be best if he found a new home in China or the US as from next summer. No-one's fault, just an experiment that didn't work.

I called it .....a while ago and got a fair bit of stick .
Still have the die hards who think it was only raining at Palace because he wasn't playing and would've scored a double hatrick .. .in the first five mins.

Think he causes more problems than he solves.

I thought he was at his best when he was with another bespectacled guy doing sketch comedy.

The Two Ronney's I think it was called.

I agree with the OP. We have no quality on the ball from anyone in the team at present.Rooney has to play. He can come off the bench for 30 min and his experience will be vital or to start games. He can play as a number 10 or even slightly deeper when we have more possession.
