Yeah looks like a Friday kick off and the first time for VAR to be used in a derby (wonder who’ll benefit from that!)

Quote
The clubs’ third-round tie has been chosen to stage a live trial of so-called Video Assistant Referees (VARs) from the televised fixtures shown by the BBC and BT between January 5-8.

Those will kick off with the Merseyside derby on the BBC on the night of Friday, January 5, which was deemed too high-profile a fixture to conduct English football’s first live VAR test.

Doesn’t that say it wont be used as too high profile?

Can still remember so much about that day. The crowd surge was proper dangerous and my dad had to brace his arms in front of me against a barrier to stop me being crushed. The look on people's faces when they realised he'd disallowed the goal is still clear in my mind. Real old school day out.. glad you enjoyed it.

Never forgotten that day - absolutely pissed down all day and got crushed in the Kippax with everyone in there trying to stay dry. Finally gave up and went to the open end bit second half and sheltered under a giant Everton flag.

We scored to make it 3-2 and went mental... didnt realise it was disallowed til about 5 mins later !
