2018/19 can't come soon enough . Every single thing about this season has been forgettable . I can't even think of an above average performance by anyone . Given price , experience blah blah blah I would say Pickford ( just) Kenny , Holgate , Rooney and maybe Siggurdsson would scrape above a 5 . Tosun and Walcott have done OK since signing and Coleman since his injury .

Swansea rejected 45m bid, before we went back with increased offer. So yes, with add ons, we paid around £50m.

Na it was widely reported as 45mil pretty much everywhere.

But you know that.

Honestly no, I didn't, have always said £50m. I knew we had £40m and £45m bids rejected and 3rd bid was acccepted.

It was 49.4m on website I use, but that was in Euro's, so presumably it was more upfront than £45m rejected.

I don't aim to please.  ;)

It's expectations and value, Martina was a freebie who's ended up being useful, Sigurdsson cost £50m and is a decent utility player. If you could cancel one of the deals, Siggy for £50m or Martina on a free, surely an easy call, we could make profit on Cuco, would lose £20m+ on Sig.

Thought Walcott has done quite well so far, but limited as a player. He works well in a kick and run team, but if we have ambitions above 7th, we'd need to have more quality and creativity.

No point in aiming to please. I think you're quite wrong about Walcott though. Read the Arsenal fans tweets to Walcott. We got a bargain there. :)
Steinbeck's maxim: “Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.”.

Pickford - 7 - Think we'll see the best of him next season, hopefully behind a much improved defence.

Martina - 5 - Done a job for us. Not good enough for where we want to go.

Keane - 3 - I would let him go in the summer. Poor on the ball, no pace and not physical enough for his size. Not a good mix.

Klaassen - 3 - Hasn't really been given a chance to adapt, so rating may be slightly harsh but doesn't look like it's going to work out here.

Sandro - 3 - Looked promising against Sevilla in pre-season and similarly to Klaassen struggled initially in a poor team. Will easily make our money back.

Sigurdsson - 7 - Play him in the centre and we'll get the best out of him. Has worked hard and contributed from an unfamiliar position.

Vlasic - 6 - Showed flashes of obvious ability and was one of those who didn't hide during a disastrous start to the season. We'll hopefully see a lot more of him next season.

Rooney - 7 - Our top scorer, that performance against West Ham and a few match winning goals make this a 7, despite a dip in form recently. Not sure if he starts every week next season but still has a big role IMO.

Tosun - 7 - Not a bad start, works hard and a few goals so far. A little too early to judge but a decent addition.

Walcott - 8 - Our best signing in my opinion. Think he fits in well at the club and has been pretty consistent since arriving.

Broadly agree with most of them myself. We were having a chat about player of the season the other day and Pickford was the only person I felt could have a shout at it, amidst the rest of the steaming shower of shite. Needs to cut out some of the silly mistakes but there's been times when he's won us points and made crucial saves.

Rooney has actually been a better signing than I anticipated. Martina, to be fair to him, he's not very good in his natural position, let alone at left-back where he's been for most of the season, and after a particularly shaky start has actually done ok at times (given his limited ability).

Can’t see rooney playing much next year you know.

Think our priority should be :

2x top CM
1x top CB (minimum)
1x top LB
1x top LW
1x CF

Think without the first 3 we will struggle badly next year.
I knew that someday I was going to die, and I knew that before I died, two things would happen to me. That number one; I would regret my entire life, and number two; that I would want to live my life over again.

Agree with most but would probably look to invest in 2 CBs. Would also be nice to see if Lookman could get a chance to develop into that top LW too. He's got the ability.

The lack of ambition in our expensive signings is shocking. We played it way too safe and still most of them came up short
